Mysore. 31st December, 2005. Following direction by the GOI, Min of YA & S; and, organized by the NSS, 50 girls and 50 boys from different colleges of the Sikkim stayed in this hostel from 28 Dec 05 to 2 Jan 2006 as a part of Inter State Youth Exchange Programme. Representing all parts of Sikkim, most of these classes 11 and 12 students besides interaction with the students of the city based colleges on different days celebrated “Deepotsav” followed by presenting a short cultural programme at the youth hostel on 31 Dec 05. |

Mysore. 18th May, 2002. Five terms National Chairman Youth Hostel Association of India and the current President of the International Youth Hostel Federation, Dr Harish Saxena had a overnight stay in the hostel on 17th May 02. During his short visit he interacted with membes of the local YHAI Units and caled on the erstwhile wardens - Col and Mrs Venkatraman. On 18th May he called on the the family of the formar national member of the YHAI trust, Late Professor Abdul Majid.
